Meaningful Testimonies
From Parents
Dear FAMS,
I hope this letter finds you well. As a new member of this vibrant community, I felt compelled to reach out and express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible gift you have provided through your free archery lessons for children. We are so thankful for FAMS, the donors, and especially the non-profit organization Anchored Hope that made this possible. My children, Ethan and Harper, have recently embarked on this exciting journey, and I want you to know just how much it has meant to our family. The opportunity to engage in such a unique and enriching activity not only aids in their personal development but also fosters a sense of belonging in a community that has welcomed us with open arms. It’s essential to acknowledge the profound impact initiatives like yours have on families like ours.
First and foremost, I wish to extend my sincerest thanks to FAMS and their donors (we can’t forget Tacos y Mas for feeding these kids on the nights they have lessons!) for your generosity in providing these free archery lessons. This program has not only been a source of joy for my children but has also significantly enriched our family’s experience since moving to this town. I have seen firsthand how these lessons have ignited a spark in my children, transforming their initial curiosity into genuine enthusiasm. The welcoming nature of the community, exemplified by your commitment to making archery accessible to all children, has made our transition smoother and more enjoyable. It’s heartwarming to witness my children being embraced by other children and instructors, creating bonds over shared challenges and victories on the archery range. Your efforts to create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported is commendable, and it has truly made a difference in our lives.
I cannot emphasize enough how much Ethan and Harper have thrived through this program. Ethan, who initially approached archery with a mix of excitement and trepidation, has blossomed into a passionate participant. Each lesson showcases his eagerness to learn and improve, and it has been a joy to witness his progression from a novice to a more skilled archer. His excitement is palpable as he recounts the techniques he has learned, eagerly sharing tips with his younger sibling, Harper. Speaking of Harper, I have seen a remarkable transformation in her as well. The lessons have not only honed her physical skills but also instilled a newfound confidence. Watching her draw back the bowstring with determination and release it with focus has been an incredible experience. The lessons have become a cherished family activity, creating lasting memories as we cheer each other on, share laughter, and engage in friendly competitions. These bonding moments have strengthened our family ties and allowed us to appreciate each other’s growth and achievements in this new chapter of our lives.
The importance of these archery lessons extends beyond the immediate enjoyment they provide; they serve as a vital component of our family’s lifestyle and overall well-being. Engaging in physical activity is essential for children’s health, and the structured nature of your program encourages Ethan and Harper to embrace an active lifestyle. Furthermore, archery requires a level of focus and discipline that is invaluable for their personal development. As they practice aiming and concentration, I have noticed a positive shift in their ability to focus on tasks and responsibilities outside of the archery range. These skills translate into their academic pursuits and daily routines, fostering a sense of responsibility and perseverance. Moreover, community programs like yours play a crucial role in helping families integrate and build connections with others. By participating in a shared activity, we not only connect with other families but also contribute to the rich tapestry of this community. It is this sense of belonging that makes our experiences here so meaningful, and we are grateful to FAMS for facilitating this journey for us.
I want to reiterate my heartfelt appreciation for the free archery lessons provided by FAMS. The impact on my children, Ethan and Harper, has been profound, enhancing not only their individual skills but also enriching our family life and fostering community connections. Your program exemplifies the power of generosity and kindness, demonstrating how a simple initiative can create ripples of positivity and growth. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation and for welcoming our family into this wonderful community. We look forward to many more lessons and memories to come!

From Grandparents
This concerns the future of the youth in the FAMS area.
Archery
One of the greatest sports for our area. The mountains around FAMS have always raised generations of hunters. Archery, being one of the oldest disciplines of man, for this sport to be taught to our youths of varying ages is a great thing.
Having my grandkids involved with archery brings out discipline, respect, and manners to the kids.
This sport gives them the sense of relating to ancestors of many and pride of close encounter hunting. The future in hunting with primitive weapons can be life-changing, as a close-up with wildlife is very exciting.
Having and holding classes for kids can be trying and expensive. This is to buy equipment for the varying ages. Many pieces of equipment are a recurring cost that is incurred by head instructors and isn’t realized by parents.
The search for donors and grants is essential to the extended vision of this archery class.
